The Scholarship Literacy Fellowship is designed for cross-sector organizations and individuals seeking training to assist high school students in navigating the scholarship process. This program follows a "train the trainers" model and is open to parents, students, counselors, youth workers, and organizations such as faith-based partners, college representatives, tax professionals, and others actively involved in supporting youth and families.
Intended Outcomes of the Fellowship Program:
The training program offered to fellows is offered in two modalities. Using an online module platform, the first training takes place virtually, while the second takes place in person. Both training sessions are approximately 2 hours each, totaling around 4 hours. Fellows should emerge from the 4 hours of training confident in their ability to conduct and facilitate scholarship seminars and conversations with students and families. This Fellowship requires a total commitment of 6 hours for training and seminar facilitation, with possible additional meetings outside of this timeframe.
Applications will be accepted until midnight on Monday, December 11, 2023. Fellows will be selected by December 15, 2023. Successful applicants must finish the online training by December 31, 2023, and the in-person training in January 2024, on the scheduled date. The initial payment for the training will be disbursed by no later than February 7, 2024. Fellows will conduct scholarship seminars from February - May 2024.
